In short: is the CitedSpy lifetime deal worth it?
CitedSpy is an AI brand mention tracker sold as a lifetime deal on Earlybird from $79, against a Solo plan the founder prices at $19 a month, so it pays for itself in about four months. Tier 1 covers 240 answer credits a month against roughly 640 on Solo. Dashboards under your own brand start at Tier 3 at $299. Earlybird refunds close at 30 days, half the window AppSumo gives, and the company was founded in 2026.
Is it worth it at $79?
Read off the plans, the founder's own posting history and the terms the sale site states
Only if you are comfortable buying permanent access from a company with one public review. The licence clears in about four months against the founder's own Solo plan, which is a fair trade. Everything else on this page is about the risk sitting underneath that trade, because it is larger here than on any other deal listed.
What the founder is selling is permanent access to software from a company that has existed for months. That can work out well. It is a bet, it should be priced as one, and $79 is roughly the right size of bet for it. Spending $299 for the white-label tiers on the same evidence is a different proposition.
What follows is a read of the sale page, the licence terms and the founder's own pricing page, checked on 14 September 2026. Nobody here ran the software.
- Unlimited prompts tracked carries a qualifier. Tier 1 allows 240 answer credits a month, while the $19 Solo plan it gets you is estimated at around 640 answers a month on the vendor's own pricing page.
- Earlybird refunds close at 30 days, half of AppSumo's, while the licence activation deadline runs to 60. A buyer who waits to try the product can lose the refund before opening it.
- Founded in 2026, with $2,000 a month in revenue stated on the sale page and one customer review. A young company selling permanent access on very little public evidence.
- Dashboards under your own brand and domain, and the ways to pull the data into other tools, only appear from Tier 3 at $299. The two cheapest tiers are no use for client work.
What you actually get
The tool reads answers from the chat interfaces people actually use rather than from a developer feed, then reports how often the brand comes up, which sources the models cite, whether the tone is positive, and which topics you are absent from. The citation half is the useful half: knowing you were not mentioned tells you little, while knowing which four sites were cited instead tells you where to go.
Every tier tracks unlimited prompts. The number that decides what a tier supports is the monthly answer credit pool, because the credits are what the platform spends actually going out and reading what the models said.
Tier 1 allows 240 answer credits a month. The $19 Solo plan the licence is priced against is estimated at roughly 640 answers a month on the founder's own pricing page. So Tier 1 is a little over a third of the volume of the plan it compares to, at four months' worth of that plan's price.
That is not a bad deal, but it is a different one from the headline. Work out your prompt-and-model matrix first. Twelve prompts across three engines checked weekly is around 144 answers a month and fits. The same twelve across six engines is 288 and does not.
Dashboards under your own brand and domain start at Tier 3, and so do the routes for pulling the data into anything else. For an agency that is the whole purchase: if the reason to buy is showing a client a report with your name on it, Tiers 1 and 2 are not a smaller version of that, they are a different product, and the ladder is steeper than the feature list makes it look.

Which tier to buy
Buy Tier 1 if you want one brand tracked across several AI engines, you can work inside 240 answers a month, and you will genuinely open it in the first 30 days.
Buy Tier 3 only if client-facing dashboards are the point and you have decided the company risk is acceptable at that price.
Walk if you want evidence before committing. ZeroRank AI Lifetime Deal does a close version of the same job on AppSumo with 61 ratings behind it and a 60 day refund window, and Nuwtonic Lifetime Deal bundles AI answer tracking with Search Console auditing if you would rather buy one workspace than two tools.
How fast it pays for itself
- $79once, here
- $19every month, from the founder
- 4.2 monthsto break even
Over three years the subscription costs $684 against $79 once here.
Every figure here assumes the founder keeps the price and the product alive for as long as the comparison runs.
Deadlines and licence
Missing the second one is not covered by the first having already passed
- Refund30 days
- Claim the licence60 days
Getting a refund and claiming the licence are separate deadlines. Full Earlybird terms.
CitedSpy is sold on Earlybird rather than AppSumo, and the platforms do not give the same terms. Refunds close at 30 days while the licence activation deadline runs to 60. Those are two clocks from the same start, and the shorter one is the one that protects you: a buyer who files the licence away meaning to look at it properly next month can activate it comfortably inside the deadline and still have lost the right to a refund before opening the product.
Everywhere else on this site both numbers are 60 and the distinction is academic. Here it is the single most likely way to lose the purchase price. Activate on day one, run a month of tracking, and decide inside the first 30 days.
"Lifetime" means the life of the product, not yours — here is what to check before you buy.
What buyers reported
Earlybird shows 5 from 1 review. That is their number, not ours.
The listing carries a single rating, five stars from one customer.
There is no honest way to read that as evidence about the product. It is one person's first impression, and the distribution that would let anyone say more does not exist yet.
The sale page also states the company was founded in 2026 and reports around $2,000 a month in revenue, which is a real number honestly disclosed and a small one to weigh against a licence meant to outlive a subscription.

Worth buying if you are
- Agencies that need white-label AI visibility dashboards on a custom domain
- Founders tracking one brand across several AI engines without an enterprise contract
Not worth buying for
- Anyone who wants to try the product slowly, because Earlybird refunds close at 30 days while the activation deadline runs to 60
- Teams that need dashboards under their own brand and domain, which only start at Tier 3 at $299
- Buyers who want a track record, given the company was founded in 2026 and the sale page states $2,000 a month in revenue

Common questions about the CitedSpy deal
Are the two deadlines the same?
No, and this is the deal where it matters most. You have 30 days to ask for your money back, and 60 days to claim the licence. Missing the second is not covered by the first.
How do we know when it was last updated?
Earlybird publishes no update feed, so the most recent word from the founder is a reply to a customer review dated 27 August 2026. That is the date shown above.
Why is the refund window shorter than on other deals here?
Because CitedSpy is sold on Earlybird rather than AppSumo. Earlybird gives 30 days to ask for a refund while the licence can still be activated at day 60, so the two deadlines pull apart.
How many AI answers does the cheapest tier cover?
240 answer credits a month at Tier 1. Tier 2 covers 720, Tier 3 covers 2,400, Tier 4 covers 4,500 and Tier 5 covers 9,000, against roughly 640 a month on the Solo plan the price is measured against.
Which tier adds white-label dashboards?
Tier 3. Dashboards under your own brand and domain, and the routes for pulling the data into anything else, do not exist on Tiers 1 and 2 at any amount of stacking.
