In short: is the Respona lifetime deal worth it?
Respona is a link building outreach platform sold as a lifetime deal on AppSumo from $79, against a Starter plan the founder prices at $198 a month, so it pays for itself inside the first month. Tier 1 carries 1,000 credits a month plus 5,000 one-time bonus credits, against 10,000 a month on Starter, and allows two sending mailboxes. The deal is open only to people who have never held a Respona account, trial or paid plan.
Is it worth it at $79?
Read off the plans, the founder's own posting history and the terms the sale site states
For steady link building, yes, and the payback is the shortest on this site: it clears inside the first month against the founder's own Starter plan.
What follows is a read of the sale page, the licence terms, the founder's answers on the listing and the published rating record, checked on 14 September 2026. Nobody here ran the software.
- Pays for itself in under a month against the founder's own plan
- There are two credit balances. Tier 1 gets 1,000 a month that refill plus 5,000 bonus credits that do not, against 10,000 a month on the $198 Starter plan it gets you.
- Email accounts are the other hard cap. Tier 1 allows two, and the vendor charges $49 a month for each extra on its own plans. Accounts only become unlimited at Tier 3.
- This second AppSumo round is restricted to brand-new users with no previous account, trial or paid plan, which rules out anyone who took the first round or ever started a trial.
Who can buy it
This round is open only to people who have never held a Respona account. Not never paid, never held: a free trial started years ago and abandoned is enough to rule you out, and so is having bought the earlier AppSumo round.
Check that before anything else on this page. It is the one term here that cannot be worked around by choosing a different tier.
What you actually get
Tier 1 carries 1,000 credits a month and 5,000 bonus credits. Those are not the same thing and the difference decides how the deal feels in month three. The 1,000 refill every month. The 5,000 are granted once.
So the first month looks like 6,000 credits of capacity and every month after it looks like 1,000, against 10,000 a month on the Starter plan the licence gets you. Budget on the 1,000 and treat the bonus as a one-off allowance for the initial push of prospecting, which is genuinely when outreach work is heaviest.
What the credits are spent on matters as much as how many there are. Asked in 2026 about importing prospect lists from other tools, the founder answered that Respona accepts a CSV from anywhere and that imports cost zero credits, so the allowance goes on the expensive part: finding the right person at a company and verifying their address. Prospect in whatever cheap tool you already have, import for nothing, and a thousand credits a month buys a lot more outreach than it does if you expect Respona to do the finding as well.
The other hard cap at Tier 1 is two sending mailboxes, and for anyone whose volume needs more than two inboxes to stay deliverable that is the real ladder rather than the credits.
One number on the sale page is not a price. AppSumo prints $798 beside the $79 on Tier 1, which is the platform's own comparison value of the sort every listing carries, and nobody was being asked to hand over $798. The founder's own pricing page lists Starter at $198 a month, and that recurring figure is the one the payback here is worked out against.

Which tier to buy
Mailboxes decide the tier more often than credits do. On the vendor's own plans an extra mailbox is $49 a month, so the jump to unlimited sending at Tier 3 is the single most expensive thing being given away here.
Tier 1 suits one person running continuous outreach inside its credit allowance. Tier 2 suits a freelancer or small team whose sending has outgrown two inboxes. Tier 3 is the sensible floor for an agency, and the founder has described Tier 4 on the listing as the one agencies use to sell link building as a service.
Walk if you need a few hundred contacts once a quarter. A pool that refills monthly rewards steady use and quietly wastes itself on sporadic use, and no tier fixes that.
How fast it pays for itself
- $79once, here
- $198every month, from the founder
- 0.4 monthsto break even
Over three years the subscription costs $7,128 against $79 once here.
Every figure here assumes the founder keeps the price and the product alive for as long as the comparison runs.

- Claim the licence60 days
Getting a refund and claiming the licence are separate deadlines. Full AppSumo terms.
| The plan it gets you | Starter (Tier 1), Pro (Tier 2), Unlimited (Tier 3) |
|---|---|
| Claim the licence within | 60 days of buying |
| Moving down a tier | Allowed for 60 days, upgrades any time the deal is live |
| Who can buy | New Respona accounts only, with no previous trial or paid plan |
| If the plan is renamed | The licence moves to the new plan name with the updates that come with it |
Terms can change while a sale is running. The AppSumo deal terms are the version that binds.
That the tiers map to named plans at all is stated on the sale page rather than left to be inferred, which is less common than it should be and worth crediting.
Asked in August 2026 about integrating with another SEO tool sold on the same platform, the founder said it is not on the near roadmap and pointed at CSV import instead. That answer tells you the shape of the product: it expects to be the place outreach happens, not the place your data lives, and it will take a list from anywhere.
"Lifetime" means the life of the product, not yours — here is what to check before you buy.
What buyers reported
AppSumo shows 4.8 from 13 reviews. That is their number, not ours.
The most useful exchange on the listing is a buyer reporting in 2026 that opportunity inspect and its quick actions, keeping a site, removing one and adding a global unsubscribe, were unavailable on their account.
The founder's answer was unusually direct. Those features are not part of the plan the cheapest tier gets you, so it was not a bug; the AppSumo page did not say so, which the founder accepted was their fault, and rather than amend the fine print they said they would enable the features for AppSumo buyers instead.
Two things follow. A tier named after a plan inherits that plan's exclusions, and sale pages list what is included far more carefully than what is not. And this vendor fixed it for a buyer who was right, on a public page, within days.
Respona averages 4.85 across 13 ratings: 12 at five stars, 1 at three, and none at two or one. Thirteen is too few to generalise from and worth reading individually instead.
The most useful of the five AppSumo surfaced is the three star one from September 2026, where a buyer running about 100 emails a day reported roughly one in ten bouncing and eventually took the refund. The founder replied the same day, at length.
That is one buyer at a volume the entry tier's two mailboxes were never sized for, and bounce rates in cold outreach depend on list quality and sending setup rather than on the platform alone. It is a reminder that outreach software cannot fix a list, and that the refund window is the right place to find that out.
The positive reviews describe a learning curve, email-only support, and onboarding that carried people through it. One bought Tier 3 for backlinks and reports using it mainly for podcast outreach instead, which describes what the tool is better than the category name does.

Worth buying if you are
- In-house SEOs running steady link building rather than occasional campaigns
- Agencies who need unlimited seats and workspaces without per-seat pricing
Not worth buying for
- Anyone who has ever held a Respona account, trial or paid plan, which includes buyers from the earlier AppSumo round
- Teams sending from more than two mailboxes, because mailboxes only become unlimited at Tier 3 at $399
- Anyone budgeting on the 5,000 bonus credits, which are granted once rather than refilling each month

Common questions about the Respona deal
What is the difference between monthly credits and bonus credits?
Monthly credits refill every month for the life of the licence. Bonus credits are a one-time grant listed separately. Tier 1 shows 1,000 monthly and 5,000 bonus, so the bonus is five months of allowance handed over once.
Can existing Respona users buy this deal?
No. The deal terms restrict it to brand-new users with no previous account, trial or paid plan with the vendor. Buyers from the earlier AppSumo round are covered by that purchase rather than this one.
How many sending mailboxes does Tier 1 allow?
Two. Tier 2 allows five, and mailboxes only become unlimited at Tier 3. On the founder's own plans an extra mailbox is $49 a month, which is more than twice what the Tier 1 licence costs once.
How long do you get to refund or claim the licence?
Sixty days to ask for a refund and sixty days to claim the licence, both counted from the day you pay. They are separate deadlines, and missing the second is not covered by the first having already passed.
Which of the founder's plans does each tier get you?
Tier 1 gets you Starter, Tier 2 gets you Pro and Tier 3 gets you Unlimited. The sale page says the licence moves to the new plan name if a plan is renamed, which is less common than it should be.
